Hands-on Mechanical Designer & Prototyper

I’m a mechanical designer and prototyper who has been fixing and building things since age seven—when I repaired my mother’s sewing machine and discovered the joy of making hardware work. Today, I blend industrial design, manufacturing know-how, and electronics to turn ideas into clean, manufacturable CAD and working prototypes.

I’m a Certified SOLIDWORKS Professional (CSWP + CSWPA) and have taught advanced SOLIDWORKS for 13+ years (parametric parts/assemblies, sheet metal, surfacing, drawings, and CAM). My workflow emphasizes DFM, clear feature trees, versioned files, and practical iteration.

Selected builds & reverse engineering

• Medical ventilator prototype (2020) — full assembly, mechanisms, and documentation.
• CNC machines — briefcase-size mill (2012) and a custom CNC plasma cutter (mechanics + controls).
• Bean cleaner with computer vision, harness-taping machine, sheet-metal bender, and a seed roaster with a custom gas-flow sensor and control.
• Reverse-engineered parts — industrial camera, automotive components, replacement plastic parts.
• Mechatronics — ESP32 + PLC integration for smarter prototypes.
